PURPOSE:To rapidly, simply and easily remove a secondary coating part from an optical fiber without giving a worker trouble in removing this secondary coating. CONSTITUTION:This device for removing the coating of the optical fiber F which removes the secondary coating part FC at one end of the optical fiber F produced by forming the primary coating part FB on a bare fiber FA, then forming the secondary coating part FC thereon, is freely oscillatably provided with a pair of blade holders 7F, 7B having a pair of blades 29F, 29B adjustable in the inter-blade distance so as to face each other on a base 3. The device described above is provided with an optical fiber guiding device 49 consisting of an upper guiding member and lower guiding member in which a spacing to which a pair of these blades 29F, 29B are insertable and a passage through which the optical fiber F is insertable, are formed. |
