PURPOSE:To make the in-plane luminance distribution of a display screen for a liquid crystal display device uniform and to improve the display quality by correcting the in-plane luminance distribution of a light transmission plate so that it may become ununiform in accordance with the ununiform in-plane light transmittance distribution of a liquid crystal display element. CONSTITUTION:The in-plane luminance distribution of the light transmission plate 37 is controlled to be in an ununiform state so that the luminance of the liquid crystal display element 62 far from a common driver circuit substrate 35a for the liquid crystal display element 62 arranged outside the short side of the rectangular liquid crystal display element 62 may become higher and also the luminance of the liquid crystal display element 62 near a fluorescent lamp 36 may become lower. |
