PURPOSE:To provide the titled cellulosic fiber containing copper hydroxide, copper oxide or copper sulfide in the cross-section of the fiber, containing more than specific amount of copper, having stable and excellent fungicidal activity and hygroscopicity and capable of keeping the fungicidal activity over a long period. CONSTITUTION:The objective cellulosic fiber contains at least one kind of compound selected from copper hydroxide, copper oxide and copper sulfide in the cross-section of the fiber and having a copper-content of >=200mg, preferably 200-350mg per 1g of fiber in terms of copper oxide. The content of the copper compound can be controlled by acid-washing condition in the acid regeneration of the surface of a blue fiber with an acid. For example, an aqueous solution having a sulfuric acid concentration of 0.1-3wt% is used as an acid bath and the fiber is passed through the bath in 1/1,000-1sec. |
