<p>PURPOSE:To improve the quality of an image and to miniaturize a device by specifying the volume particle size distribution of non-magnetic one-component developer and nip width between an electrostatic latent image holding body and a developer carrier. CONSTITUTION:The non-magnetic one-component developer having the volume particle size distribution where the particles having >=16mum particle size are <10% is used and the nip width between the electrostatic latent image holding body 7 and the developer carrier (developing roller) 5 is set to <=3mm. The carried developer 2 is held on the surface of the roller 5 as a thinned layer by passing through a developer layer thickness regulating member 6, and simultaneously specified charge is imparted to the developer 2. An electrostatic latent image formed on the holding body 7 provided in contact with the roller 5 with <=3mm nip width is developed with the developer carried on the surface of the roller 5 by utilizing electric field.</p> |
