A splicing tape adhesive comprising 97 % to 45 % by weight of an emulsion polymer formed of from about 80 % to 90 % by weight of monomers comprising a major portion of at least alkyl acrylate containing from 4 to about 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl group and from about 20 % to 10 % by weight of at least one carboxylic acid, said emulsion polymer formed in the presence of anionic and nonionic surfactants to provide a polymer having a glass transition temperature of -15 to -50 DEG C in the presence of a chain transfer agent, from about 25 % by weight of an acrylic polymer having a glass transition of less than -50 DEG C and about 3 % to about 20 % by weight plasticizer. |
