PURPOSE:To obtain a calixarene derivative which is represented by a specific chemical structure and useful in the separation and analyses of sodium ion or as a sodium ion-absorbing agent because of its extremely excellent selectivity to the sodium ion withstanding to the affection of hydrogen ion. CONSTITUTION:The derivative of formula I (R is a 1-18C alkyl, a 2 12C alkoxyethyl, an alkoxycarbonylmethyl, 3-oxabutano cross-linked to each other; R1 is H, a 1-12C alkyl), for example, the derivative of formula II. The derivative is obtained by reaction of a starting substance of formula III with a compound of formula IV (Y is a halogen, methanesulfonyl, p-toluenesulfonyl) in the presence of base followed by reaction of the product precursor with a compound of the formula: R-Z (Z is equal to Y) in the presence of a base. |
