The snap fastener consists of a plastics snap element (5) which comprises a two-armed lever (16) which is pivotally coupled to a first structural part (2). The first arm (17) of the lever has a latch (18) which in the closed position grips a protrusion (4) of the second structural part (1). A spring element (22) is formed on the second arm (21) of the lever. In the closed position, a lip (23) on the free end of the spring element snaps into the tread (24) of a sliding surface (25) of the first structural part.
