WHEEL PAIR FOR THE BASIC RAIL GAUGES IN THE WORLD

The wheel pair (1) is designed for the basic rail gauges in the world applying safe and secure fixation of the wheels (2) having two cogs (8 & 11) each in the normal and the wide rail gauges, as well as in the narrow gauges where only one upper cog (11) is in operation. The lower cogs (25) are fitted to the side walls (23) of the axle box (9) and are fitted on a plane symmetrical to the plane of the inner cog (11) meshing in slots (26) of wings (27) mounted to the side in the lower part of the sleeve (4). There are three alternatives for taking up the load falling on the external cog (8) in the positioning for the narrow gauges, and one additional alternative for the fixation (locking) in the narrowest rail gauge. The listed alternatives can be applied in different combinations depending on the number and type of rail track gauges served.
