METHOD FOR BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT OF WASTE WATER

The biological treatment of effluents is effected by several parallel chains of aerators, suspended from air hoses, if necessary with a carrier wire, across the basin. The aerators are located near the bottom of the digested sludge basin and are oscillated when supplied with compressed air. Only a part of the chains receive the full air supply at a time; the others are more or less cut off so that only the former produce a through circulation of sludge and effluent. The active part of the chains is changed in such a pattern that a migrating wave is generated across the basin.
