PURPOSE:To prepare an ink compsn. for thermal transfer recording having high sublimation speed and image stability after transfer by compounding a specific magenta sublimable dye, a binder resin and an org. solvent and/or water. CONSTITUTION:An ink compsn. for thermal transfer recording is prepared by compounding a dye for thermal transfer recording represented by formula (wherein X is a substituted or non-substituted cyclic compd. containing one or more of a nitrogen atom, a sulfur atom or an oxygen atom), a binder resin and an org. solvent and/or water. This ink compsn. is applied to the dye supported layer formed on one surface of a base material sheet and dried to support the dye for thermal transfer recording to form a transfer sheet. As a concrete example of the binder resin for preparing the ink compsn., there is a rosin, phenol or xylene type resin and, as a concrete example of the org. solvent, there are alcohols, cellosolves or esters. |
