PRODUCTION OF HIGH-VOLTAGE INSULATOR

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain an alumina ceramic insulator resistant to high voltage. CONSTITUTION:This high-voltage insulator higher in voltage resistance than conventional alumina insulators is obtained by heat treatment of a high-purity alumina ceramic sintered compact under specified conditions (in an argon or nitrogen atmosphere at 1000-1600 deg.C under 10-2000atm for 10min to 10hr) to remove fine pores present in the sintered compact. Therefore, this insulator can be applied even to such products that cannot afford sufficient interelectrode distance due to size limitations. Furthermore, insulators with controlled voltage resistance can be easily obtained by adequately selecting heat treatment conditions.
