Paste prods., partic. hot sugar, are moulded between two half moulds pressed together. The two parts of the mould (M1 and M2) are mounted on two plate (1-2) which are articulated at 1 end about and the axis (3). The plates can open to an angle ( alpha ) of about 90 deg for insertion of moulds, then closed together, by moving the upper plate (2) against the lower (1). A handle (42) attached to the upper plate is used for this. The two parts of the mould are aligned relative to each other, to ensure the match up exactly. Moulds of different depths can be used.
