摘要 It is known that virtually all vehicles which can be driven by a fuel-operated engine are equipped with an electric motor as so-called starter and an electric generator as so-called dynamo. While the starter is only used to start the fuel-operated engine, the dynamo serves to generate the electric energy which is either stored in a connected battery or is used directly to supply the electric components of the vehicle. The starter and dynamo require their own space in the engine cavity of the vehicle and are manufactured independently of one another although both components in principle have a large number of components in common. Here, the invention on which the object is based attempts, with the smallest possible outlay in terms of costs and material, to provide a starter and a dynamo which moreover can still be accommodated in the engine cavity in a space-saving way. According to the invention, this object is achieved in a vehicle of the type described at the beginning in that the starter and dynamo are joined to form a single machine and in that the machine is seated on the crankshaft of the fuel-operated engine. The invention is based on the knowledge that the starter and the dynamo can be advantageously formed from essentially the same component if this component is a direct current disc-type rotor which, depending on the way in which it is actuated, operates as a starter or dynamo.
