Heading A4M An upholstery tufting device comprises a flexible connecting member 12 adapted to pass through a cushion or the like, a button 11 attached to one end of the connecting member 12 and an opposite end of the member 12 being adapted for attachment to a further button 15, said opposite end comprising a generally bullet-shaped head 14 terminating in a point 13, an abutment face 19 for engagement by the forward end of a needle (30) Fig. 5 (not shown) for pushing the head 14 through a compressed cushion (21) and a thickened cylindrical portion 35 adjacent the face 19 for engaging in, and guiding the needle (30). In a modification, Fig. 4, the abutment face is provided on a further annular projection 76. The further button 15 may be in one piece or, as shown, may comprise two parts 58, 60 snap-fitted together. The first button 11 may be snap-fitted on to, or integral with the connecting member 12. |
