A process for the production of plastic and rubber compositions filled with carbon black in which an organosilicon compound is used and is reacted in situ with the carbon black. The organosilicon compound is selected from the following formulae: (R1n-(RO)3-nSi-(Alk)m-(Ar)p)q (B)(I) R1n-(RO)3-nSi-(Alkyl)(II) or R1n-(RO)3-nSi-(Alkenyl)(III) in which B=-SCN, -SH, -Cl-NH2(where q=1) or -Sx- (where q=2), R=a C1-4 alkyl or C1-4 alkoxy group or a phenyl group, R1=a C1-4 alkyl group or a phenyl group, n=0, 1 or 2, Alk=a difunctional, linear or branched C1-6 hydrocarbon radical, m=0 or 1, Ar=a C6-12 preferably C6 arylene radical, p=0 or 1, with the proviso that p and n cannot both be 0, x=a number from 2 to 8, Alkyl=a monofunctional, linear or branched unsaturated C1-20 and preferably C2-8 hydrocarbon radical, Alkenyl=a monofunctional, linear or branched unsaturated C2-20 and preferably C2-6 hydrocarbon radical.
