PURPOSE:To regenerate transmission clocks with less jitter on a reception side in the asynchronous optical communications system of a frequency for which transmission line clocks and transmission signal clocks are mutually different. CONSTITUTION:The transmission clock 102 and a transmission signal 101 are converted to the optical signals of respectively different wavelengths in electrooptical conversion circuits 6 and 5 and both optical signals are synthesized in an optical synthesizer 7, wavelength-multiplexed and transmitted to an optical transmission line 104. On the reception side 2, they are demultiplexed in an optical demultiplexer 8 and turned respectively to electric signals in optic/ electric signals 11 and 9. The transmission clock is reproduced in a clock reproduction circuit 10 and the transmission signal is frameconverted in a timing extraction circuit 12 and a frame conversion circuit 13 and outputted. |
