In a preformed component, in particular a brick, made of a mixture of sand, calcium-containing components, aggregates and water by protomoulding and subsequent autoclave treatment corresponding to lime-sand brick technology, it is provided, for achieving starting material costs which are as low as possible with simultaneous reuse of recycled material, that the starting material completely or partially comprise comminuted recycled material such as building rubble and/or waste materials from the production and processing of building material or industrial waste materials comprising at least one concrete-like component containing calcium in undisassociated form and also, if desired, bricks, brick masonry, clay ceramic and natural stone.
