An apparatus for washing and drying printing plates, having an inlet table (1), having a row of stations (2, 3, 4, 5) adjoining said inlet table for washing, rinsing and/or preserving and/or rubber-coating and for drying, having pairs of rollers (10, 11) which are arranged in the various stations with a horizontal axis of rotation and whose roller nip is located at the height of the inlet table (1), at least one roller per pair of rollers (10, 11) being able to be driven in order to convey the printing plates through the roller nips in engagement with the rollers (10, 11), and having an outlet table (6). Provided in all the stations (2, 3, 4, 5) in a common alignment coinciding with the conveying direction (26) of the roller pairs (10, 11) are longitudinal guide devices (12) which all lie either above or below the roller nip and, adjoining the roller nip, bound an obstacle-free passage through all the stations (2, 3, 4, 5). <IMAGE>
