Wire basket

Wire baskets with side walls, bottom and top are provided for retaining walls and bank linings. The wire baskets each consist of wires crossing one another and have a tie rod which is accommodated in the wire basket. With the wire basket, drainage and/or filter material is to be applied to landfill bodies which have larger angles of slope without having to fear slippage of this material. To this end, the side walls, the bottom and the top of the wire basket are undetachably connected to one another to form a prefabricated basket unit. Narrow-mesh wire netting is arranged on the side walls, the bottom and the top, and the tie rod is undetachably fastened to the wire basket. The drainage and/or filter material is put into this basket unit on the spot without it being able to fall out. The tie rod prevents the walls from being deformed in an undesirable manner. The wire basket is suitable for constructing landfill sites which have correspondingly large angles of slope.
