IRON-BINDING POLYMERS FOR ORAL ADMINISTRATION

Iron-binding polymers are provided for decreasing the absorption of iron from the gastrointestinal tract. The polymers are orally administered, and are useful for treatment of iron overload disorders. Poly(dialkylaminoalkylacrylamide), poly(vinylamine), poly(ethyleneimine), and polymers having repeating di- and tri-alkylamine groups comprise the class of iron-binding (co)-polymers of the invention.
