A screw guide (6) for a screw driving machine has a holder (7) which supports a bearing plate (11) and to which a lever (9) is pivotably mounted, with a spring (13) which forces the lever (9) to move toward the bearing plate (11) and thereby press a screw (5) to the wall of a guide channel (12) in the bearing plate (11). The contact point (B) between the lever (9) and the screw (5) is set to the axis of rotation (A) of the lever (9) so that when the screw is turned in the direction of arrow (D), the frictional force causes the lever arm (b) to exert torque on the lever (9), which increases the pressure of the lever (9) against the bearing plate (11), thereby effectively preventing a slanting of the screw. |
