The invention relates to a device for cleaning and/or surface treatment of workpieces. In one embodiment, the workpiece is set vibrating by a linear vibrating head or orbital vibrating head and is immersed in a medium. In this arrangement, very high accelerations occur at the reversal (inversion) point of the motion, by means of which an intense cleaning effect is achieved. In another embodiment, the medium is itself set vibrating by a paddle attached to the vibrating head, in particular in combination with a cage. In this case, it is possible to apply very high energies to the processing bath.
