PURPOSE:To form a thick wear-resistant alloy layer on a relatively thin base steel sheet, avoid a lowering of hardness due to the penetration of the base steel sheet and reduce the loss of alloy powder. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the base steel sheet 6 consisting of carbon steel or stainless steel is previously blasted, and the powder 7 of a self-fluxing alloy resistant to wear is supplied on the surface of the steel sheet from a hopper 8. The powder layer is leveled by a leveling plate 9 to arrange to a specified thickness, and then the resultant is introduced into a heating furnace 12 and heated to about 1100 deg.C to deposit the alloy to the sheet 6 surface. The alloy is then straightened by a roller leveler 18 utilizing the heat of the sheet 6. |
