Transverse em or TEM cell, esp. for investigating electromagnetic compatibility

The TEM cell has at least its inner conductor (1) forming one or two pointed ends whilst the wave impedance is maintained. The inner conductor has the shape of a segment of a rotation symmetrical hollow body formed by rotating a polygon starting on the rotation axis or a smooth curve starting on the rotation axis.The cross-sections of the hollow body can also be approximated to by polygonal figures. The base (5) surface of the cell is flat and the rotation axis can be located in the base.
