PURPOSE:To highly efficiently produce a substrate for the photosensitive drum with the substrate material being immediately surface-finished without flattening the surface with a polycrystalline diamond cutting tool and having a stabilized surface condition. CONSTITUTION:A diamond cutting tool retaining diamond chips is abutted on a substrate material and fed to surface-finish the material, and a substrate for the photosensitive drum is produced. In this case, the diamond chip 1 consists of a polycrystalline diamond having a main cutting blade 5 in which a cutting face 8 and a side flank are intercrossed and an auxiliary cutting blade 6 in which the gutting face 8 and a front flank 7 are intercrossed, the front flank 7 is formed by a polished face free of polishing marks, and a finely polished part 10 having a minute width is formed in the auxiliary cutting blade 6. |
