A dryer for nuts comprises (a) a chamber(1) formed from vertical sealed walls(2) and a base(12); (b) prim.(3) and sec.(4) support grills extending within the chamber at an angle to the horizontal equivalent to the natural slope of a heap of nuts; (c) prim.(10) and sec.(14) means of prodn. of drying air across the grills(3,4) vertically from base to top of chamber (1).
