PURPOSE: To save the removing operation of vitreous humor. CONSTITUTION: This vitreous humor tamponade for the posterior cavity in an eye includes at least one perfluorocarbon which is liquid under normal conditions and, after injection in the eye, changes into the vapor condition as a result of its vapor pressure. Thus, because it is liquid under normal conditions and, after injection in the eye, changes into the vapor condition as a result of its vapor pressure, it is possible to prevent the acute rise of the intra-ocular pressure and to inject new vitreous humor without removing the existing vitreous humor by sucking. Therefore, it becomes possible to inject vitreous humor without such complicated operations as to cut the vitreous body. |
