To produce a package of hollow plates for an air/air heat exchanger, in a clothes dryer, the edges (26,27) of the air entries and outlets (36,37) of all the stacked plates (21) are bonded together by covering extrusions (31-33) parallel to the entries and outlets. The extrusions (31-33) are fitted with right angled distance frame ribs (34,35), as one piece. Also claimed is a mfg. tool with distance holders (41) in a number of layers of a push unit for the plates (21), with a trailing section (42) in a hollow with U-shaped edges to the air entries/outlets (36,37). Two external push units (43) have bars (44) with a length and thickness matching the entries (36,37) and form a curved section (45) as an extrusion zone with the trailing section (42) of the distance piece (41) and cover the edges (26,27) of the openings (36,37). USE/ADVANTAGE - The unit is compact assembly of plates as an air/air heat exchanger in the condensation clothes dryer of a domestic appliance. The system gives a simplified mfg. process, with an injection moulder, giving a long life and retaining strength in the assembly.
