PURPOSE:To facilitate the handling and administration of material data when a layout on a paper surface in printing process is made by using digitized mate rial data on a photograph a chart, a document, etc. CONSTITUTION:When a storage device 2 is stored with the material data as a file, an arithmetic processor 3 generates extended data for connection which indicates the hierarchic position of the material data in the storage device and stores the data together with the material data. Then the arithmetic processor 3 generates a layout data file for recording the layout result of the arrangement position, etc., of the picture. At this time, the material data file is retrieved and read in to put the extended data for connection in the layout data. Then when the laid-out paper surface is outputted, the material data are read in according to the extended data for connection in the layout data file and outputted. |
