PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a color mixture connection streak and to obtain high image quality by dividing the recording element row of each color into a plurality of blocks and recording a decimation image in the relation of interpolation and performing sub-scanning after main scanning and performing the recording of unit image regions and differentiating the connection parts of mutually adjacent unit image regions at every color. CONSTITUTION:Printing head rows 1K (black), 1C (cyan), IM (magenta), 1Y (yellow) are mounted on a carriage so as to be mutually shifted in a sub-scanning direction and the connection parts of recording regions at every colors are shifted. That is, the printing heads are divided into blocks and the different blocks are used to successively record pruned images which are mutually complementary to each other by main scanning performed two or more times and, after the completion of main scanning, the subscanning of block widths is performed. The K-head operated at first uses the lower half part (four pixels) of a printing head in the first scanning to perform zigzag printing. The C-head shifts one pixel to perform reverse zigzag printing. Thereafter, the M-and Y-heads are operated in the same way. In the second scanning, the K-head performs reverse zigzag printing and the C-, M-and Y-heads are operated successively. |
