A current regulator of the type comprising a transistor 12, an emitter resistor 13 and a Zener diode 14 connected between the resistor 13 and the base of the transistor is provided with an active current regulating device 15, e.g. a field effect transistor, which shunts the collector and base terminals of transistor 12 and which increases the level at which the circuit will regulate current. The Specification discusses the theory of operation of the circuit, and describes a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown) in which the device 15 is replaced by the circuit of Fig. 1 so that there is provided a multitransistor circuit capable of regulating at still higher levels. |
