The recording disc comprises a disc shaped substrate having a recording surface provided with coaxial recording tracks, along which the information is recorded as information pits. An address pit for address reproduction is recorded in a radial direction relative to a number of adjacent recording tracks across the recording surface of the disc. Pref. the address pit is of greater size than the information pit to allow reproduction via a standard reproduction system. the information pit reproduced via a super-resolution reproduction system. ADVANTAGE - Allows optical recording of both address and information pits without cross-talk.
