PROCESS FOR PREPARATION OF ACETIC ACID WITH NIKEL CATALYST

The method uses a new nickel catalyst whose catalystic activity is enhanced by adding Lewis acid and prepares acetic acid from methyl formate using the new nickel catalyst. The total reaction comprises methyl formate as a reactant, nickel as a main catalyst, a promotor, additives, and a solvent. The above additives are methyl iodide and one selected from organic nitrogen or organic phosphorous compond. This is used for stabilizing the product, and Lewis acid as a promotor is selected from iron halide, zinc halide, zirconium halide, antimone halide, aluminum halide and titanium halide. The reaction proceeds in the carbon monoxide atmosphere at 10-60 atm and 140-220 deg.C for 1-3 hours.
