PURPOSE:To eliminate a page on which printing is interrupted with a space remaining by a method wherein if a paper near end sensor has already detected an end of paper when a page feed instuction issues, a paper run-out alarm is outputted, and a printing action is interrupted. CONSTITUTION:Paper 15 contained in a stacker 25 in a folded state is fed along a feed path 16 in a direction of an arrow 19. On the feed path 16, a platen roller 17 is disposed, and a printing head 18 is disposed so as to be opposed to the platen roller 17 across the paper 15. Printing data is supplied to the printing head 18 from a printing control part 31. A paper end sensor 32 and a paper near end sensor 33 are disposed in order on the feed path 16 before the printing head 18 in a paper feed direction. When the paper end sensor 32 detects the trailing end of the paper 15, a printing action is immediately forcibly brought to a stop, and a replacment of paper is requested. Namely, the printing control part 31 outputs an alarm signal to an alarm part 34 made of a buzzer or the like to request an operator to replace the paper 15. |
