PURPOSE: To provide a method and device which facilitate translation of a text input into a foreign language in an interactive software application. CONSTITUTION: Context translation procedures are inserted to the interactive software application, and this application is executed by a data processor 12. The text input is displayed on a video output device 16 during this execution, and context translation procedures are called by an operator input device 14, and translation of the text input is inputted by them. This input translation is displayed in the vicinity of the text input on the screen of the display device 16, and the input translation is substituted replaced the text input.
