Print head unit for ink-jet printer - has common manifold supplying ink jet chamber through number of orifices that are smaller in size than print head nozzles
摘要
The ink jet printer has a head unit with a number of delivery nozzles (6) arranged in parallel that receive ink from a convergent sections (5) in which there are located oscillators (9) for excitation and generation of ink droplets. The ink is supplied from a common manifold (4) via a number of small orifices (10). Each of the supply orifices is of a cross section that is smaller than that of the print head delivery nozzles (6). The supply orifice is typically no larger than 0.9 of the delivery nozzle radius. The diameter of the nozzle is no larger than 50 micrometres. USE/ADVANTAGE - Print head configuration controls air into nozzle chambers.
