PURPOSE:To provide the stripper for an optical fiber which holds the curved optical fiber in the state of extending the fiber straight and can cut and pull out the protective coating layer of the fiber exactly with good reproducibility, i.e., high reliability. CONSTITUTION:A pair of recessed and projecting blocks 11, 12 which are fitted in each other are disposed in proximity to cutting bodies 19, 21 for cutting the protective coating layer. The recessed block 12 has a guide groove 13 for surely holding the optical fiber 6 and the projecting block 11 has a guide projector 15 which fits into the guide groove 13 and is used to forcibly hold the optical fiber held by the two blocks at a straight form. |
