PURPOSE:To control an oscillated wavelength of a light emitting element within a range of wavelength for effective optical amplification of an optical fiber amplifier in the optical communication equipment including the optical fiber amplifier for optical signal amplification. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber amplifier 3 amplifies an optical signal S2 from a light emitting element 12 into an amplified optical signal S3. A level of the signal S3 is detected by a detection circuit section 6 connecting to an optical branching device 4 and a photoelectric conversion circuit section 5 and a level signal S7 is produced. The signal S7 is compared with a reference voltage Vth used to set an optimum luminous wavelength to the light emitting element. A DC current control circuit section 8 controls a bias current of the light emitting element 12 so that the oscillation wavelength of the light emitting element 12 gets within a valid amplification range of the optical fiber amplifier 3. |
