The invention relates to a filter device for an air- conditioning system, more particularly for an air- extraction system in a kitchen. In the filter device, in the direction of progression of the air current, there are arranged, one after the other, a coarse filter unit 1 and a fine filter unit 2. The coarse filter unit 1 incorporates an elongated and slot-shaped duct 6, which is arranged to progress from an inlet opening 6a to an outlet opening 6b via one or more bends 7 in the path of progression. The fine filter unit 2 incorporates a filter part 8 which is elongated in shape and which is joined to the frame members 9a,9b of the frame 9. The first wall 10 of the duct 6 of the coarse filter unit 1 is formed partially by the frame member 9a; 9b of the fine filter unit. The second wall 11 of the duct 6 of the coarse filter unit 1 is formed by an elongated casing 13, more particularly by the edge region of the long side 13a of the casing 13, which casing is arranged to enclose within it the outlet opening 6b of the duct 6 of the coarse filter 1 and the inlet opening 14 of the fine filter device 2. <IMAGE>
