<p>In a device for activating the rotation of a step (1) for vehicles such as, for example, camper vans, caravans, etc., comprising an upper step (2) secured to guides (3) in which a lower step (4) is engaged slidingly, the guides (3) are connected so that they can rotate to a shaft (5) rotationally driven by motorised means (6) which are fixed to a support (7) secured to the vehicle. Wedged onto the shaft (5) is at least one arm (8) connected so that it can rotate to a connecting rod (9) mounted on a pivot on the lower step (4). In this way, when the step is folded up, the connecting rod (9) as a result of the rotation of the arm (8), firstly entrains the lower step (4) along the guides (3).
