METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SCALING LINE PATTERN

PURPOSE: To scale the line pattern so that it matches with an actual line. CONSTITUTION: The overall line length is divided by line pattern length so as to obtain the number of repetitions of the line pattern 500 and the number of remaining pixels of the actual line 600 for each repetition of the line pattern 500. An error item is increased by the number of remaining pixels for the repetition of each repetitive pixel of an arbitrary line pattern 500 which is processed. When a cumulative error item is equal to the line pattern length, the error item is decreased by the line pattern length and excessive pixels are generated. For a line which is shorter than the line pattern 500, a similar procedure except the deletion of pixels when the cumulative error item is equal to the line pattern length is used.
