EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To provide an exhaust emission control device for purifying an exhaust gas in a gasoline engine using a high-frequency energy which can purify the exhaust gas from start of the engine to a normal driving state. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted of a first purifying means 11 which holds a high-frequency absorbing material 18 absorbing a high frequency and generating heat and a second purifying means 12 which holds a catalyst heated by heat of an exhaust gas. By this constitution, purification performance of harmful substances included in the exhaust gas from start of an engine to normal driving can be realized. Also, by providing a blowing means for supplying a gas including oxygen, purification performance of the exhaust gas at start of the engine can be further improved.
