<p>PURPOSE: To provide a bar code reader which an accounting operator can let his both hands free from for scanning of a bar code label at the time of handling a purchased commodity with his both hands and can grasp with his single hand to scan the bar code label with his other hand in the case of a commodity which he can easily handle with his single hand. CONSTITUTION: A bar code scanner 20 includes an oval housing member 22 which the accounting operator can easily hold with his hand at the time of handy scanning operation. The oval housing member 22 includes a scanning member. A support member 28 related to this scanner has a support part 30 directed in the perpendicular direction. The support part 30 has a magnet loaded on one end having a spherical junction face. This face is engaged with a face having a corresponding shape of a magnet loaded on the lower face of the housing. Therefore, the support member 28 detachably supports the scanner in plural scanning positions.</p> |
