PURPOSE:To establish a fixing method which eliminates the surface tilt of a fluid bearing type optical deflector and variation in performance such as jitters against a shock during transportation. CONSTITUTION:The fluid bearing type optical deflector has a fixed shaft 1 provided with a groove S for dynamic pressure generation and a hollow rotary shaft 3 fitted onto the fixed shaft 1 and also has a magnet 5 for rotary driving and a polygon mirror 6 on the hollow rotary shaft 3. The polygon mirror 6 is provided with screw parts 6a, 6a..., fixing screws 20, 20... are inserted into holes of an upper case 10 and screwed in the screw parts 6a, 6a... of the polygon mirror 6, and the hollow rotary shaft 3 is fixed so that a cap 11 at the upper end of the hollow rotary shaft 3 contacts the bottom surface of the upper case 10. |
