<p>PURPOSE: To separate a luminance signal and a chrominance signal from a color composite video signal while eliminating hanging dot and dot crawl. CONSTITUTION: The circuit is provided with a line filtering circuit 160 that filters and outputs a video signal, a vertical correlation adaptive circuit 170 that selects any of data in response to he vertical correlation and provides an output, a horizontal band pass filter circuit 180 that calculates chrominance signal data and horizontal correlation data and provides an output, a horizontal correlation adaptive circuit 190 that selects any of chrominance signal data in respose to the horizontal correlation and a luminance and chrominance signal separation output section 200 that receives the video signal and the chrominance signal. Then hanging dot and dot crawl causing a deteriorated image is prevented by applying filtering and band-pass filtering to the luminance signal and the chrominance signal adaptively depending on the vertical and horizontal correlation of the composite video signal so as to separate the luminance signal and the chrominance signal.</p> |
