PURPOSE:To enable rapid charging and large current discharging by folding a pos. and a neg. electrode reversal once or more so that they are placed one over another. CONSTITUTION:A band-shaped pos. electrode 3 and neg. electrode 1 are arranged mating with each other with a separator 2 interposed, and they are folded into two so that pos. is laid over pos. and neg. over neg. to yield an electrode body, and this is further folded in a plurality of reversals so that the pos. is laid over pos. and neg. over neg. Thus the structure of the electrode body is obtained. This allows accomplishing easily a structure of electrode body suitable for a square cell, in which a thin, wide pos. electrode and neg. electrode can be mated with each other with a separator interposed, and thereby a battery with high energy density can be acquired which is capable of rapid charging and large current discharging. |
