<p>Tabbed or indexed sheets typically for use in ring binders or other stationary applications are produced from a web (4) of sheet material by means of forming an aperture in the sheet material and inserting through the aperture a length of reinforcing material. The length of reinforcing material (10) is secured to the opposed faces of the sheet material and the individual sheet separated from the remainder of the web of sheet material by cutting to form a trailing edge and a leading edge for the sheet. In cutting the sheed material to form the leading edge of the sheet, a tab (34) or indexed portion of the reinforcing material is obtained at the leading edge.</p> |
