<p>The invention features a method for treating accelerated atherosclerosis in a patient suffering from vascular damage, e.g., damage caused by percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), heart transplantation, or coronary vein graft. The method includes administering to the patient a molecule which is capable of specifically binding to an interleukin receptor expressed on a cell of the patient which contributes to the process of accelerated atherosclerosis. The molecule is capable of decreasing the viability of the cells.</p> |
