PURPOSE:To constitute the system so that read-in and store of document data on an auxiliary storage device are suppressed to the minimum, and an updating of the page number can be executed at a high speed by shortening its processing time. CONSTITUTION:A page to be displayed on an indicator, and a page stored in document data on an auxiliary storage device are set as a logical page and a physical page, respectively, a logical page number table for managing the logical page number and the physical page number, and a physical page number table 2 for managing the physical page number and the logical page number, and a store place on the auxiliary storage device of the document data are provided, and an updating processing of a page of insertion, deletion, etc., of the page number is executed without updating the page number stored in the document data on the auxiliary storage device. |
