The invention relates to a method for dredging a layer of material from an area of water, wherein the area of water is divided into sections and wherein, before a section is dredged, the section to be dredged is separated from the rest of the area of water with screens (4) extending upward from the bottom of the area of water. The already dredged part of the area of water is thus prevented from being contaminated by material originating from the parts of the area of water not yet dredged. The invention can be applied in situations wherein a defined layer of material which is for instance contaminated is removed by dredging. The arranging of screens (4) according to the invention then prevents spreading of the contamination to the part already cleaned. The invention further relates to a method wherein the localization of the sludge layer for removal is determined in advance by means of samplings. |
